With the villages in the hills of Uttarakhand reeling under Coronavirus second wave, and very little resources available, Shaurya Naman decided to raise a helping hand.
As per some sources in Tehri administration, some improvements could be made in the region at their 15+ containment zones. The team of Shaurya Naman was informed that there was lack of awareness and improvements can be made by sending reinforcements and medicines to these containment zones. The villagers in far flung villages with no road access needed all the help before things get out of hand.
Knowing how miserably the major cities have failed in facing the second wave situation, imagine how dreary its avatar must be especially when its sprinting towards our villages so rapidly.
Our focus is to reach consensus on quickly executable projects addressing ground realities through the covid 19 wave by joining hands with the respective administration governing these territories
The team of volunteers at Shaurya Naman swung into action and procured Digital Thermometers, Medicines like Ivermectin, Doxy, Paracetamol, Multi Vitamins, Aspirin and masks etc. The team created 1000+ kits with each element that might be needed by a Coronavirus patient.
After securing relevant permissions from the administration, the team divided themselves into four units and covered 15 villages in a couple of days. They liaised with Asha workers in each of the village and created awareness in the villages about Coronavirus and precautions that need to be taken to control the spread. The focus of the team was to ensure that villagers don’t panic and understand the steps that need to be taken to tackle coronavirus.
The villages that were covered were Jugargaon, Syul, Chamni, Patudi, Balma, Kyari, Palam, Tugoli, Guldi, Khuret, Silogi, Pujaldi, Chota Suetta, Bada Suetta & Tinset.
The team will be returning to the hills with more resources and help in the coming weeks. In case you wish to join hands with this movement, please write to us as contact@shauryanaman.in.
