Shaurya Naman continues Covid Relief effort in the hills

This week we were able to help 15 villages each with a population of about 400-500.

A big big thank you!

A drive that started on the 16th of May 2021 and has been delivering help to the footsteps of villages – where urgent assistance is the need of the hour.

In the last 14 days, Shaurya Naman has sourced medical supplies worth 18-20 lakh rupees and has been able to help 26 villages of Tehri District and Narendra Nagar PHC along with Narendra Nagar Government Hospital and Government Covid isolation ward at Muni Ki Reti (Rishikesh)

We at Shaurya Naman Welfare Society have spent days and nights sourcing, packaging, planning and distributing medical kits, refreshments and sanitary pads for women to the much-needed areas of Tehri district.

The Drive

Our second weekend Drive of 29th and 30th May started from the PHC, Muni ki Reti, which is the central support system for Narendra Nagar. As per the requirement raised by official channels, we provided the PHC with 510 Covid isolation kits prepared by Shaurya Naman. Dr Jagdish Joshi, in-charge at Muni Ki Reti, PHC efficiently distributed the same to villages promptly.

From Muni Ki Reti our teams were divided into two routes Chamba and Devprayag.

Mr Deepak Dhyani, Mr Mayank Gupta, Mr.Tarun Paspola and Mr.Raju Thapa were covering the route to Chamba. Their next stop was Narendra Nagar Government Hospital where they handed over the following to the CMS and Tehsildar of Narendra Nagar:

  1. 40 kg Apple
  2. 5 Dozen Bananas
  3. 600 bottles of packaged drinking water (1 Ltr each)
  4. 450 tetra packs of Coconut water

On their next stop, they delivered 8000  sanitary pads to a group of women volunteers at Chamba who are working with Shaurya Naman to create awareness about menstrual health and hygiene in rural women.

After Chamba the next stop was Kirti Nagar where Shaurya Naman donated the following to the District Administration represented by SDM Kirtinagar:

  1. 30kg apple’s
  2. 18 Dozen Bananas
  3. 400 bottles of Bisleri 1 ltr
  4. 250 tetra packs of Coconut water 200ml
  5. 120 medical kits and 80 small sanitizers.

The Devprayag route was covered by Mr Anshul Jain, Mr Arjun Raina, Mr Anurag Uniyal, Mr Mohit Ghildiyal, Mr Sameer Uniyal, Mr Taresh Sharma and Mr Aneesh Jain.

The villages (gram sabhas each of which has many villages under its jurisdiction) covered in Devprayag were Aamni, Darogi, Chaam, Kandi bagdi, Beedakot and Kandi Gusain  where we distributed around 350 kits to the respective Asha workers of the villages.

Since we were carrying additional supplies and also had some daylight left before the sun sets, after completing this region the team requested the administration to provide a list of a few more affected villages in the same region. We got an immediate positive response and were asked to deliver medical kits to the Anjanisain/Paurikhal region where we distributed 350 kits to the Asha/Anganwadi workers of Village Soota, Dasoli, Chaaka, Amilda and Badli.
